The Raven River Hideaway
group camping facility
weddings - family reunions - group gatherings
The Perfect location for your wedding, family reunion or
group camping event
Thank you for visiting our site - we are located in Red Deer County - just south of hiway 54, west of Spruceview, east of Caroline, north of Sundre on the banks of the Raven River.
The Caron Family Farm was purchased in the 1960's by Oscar and Valerie Caron as a recreational property to be enjoyed by their family. It eventually became their home and they hosted their first official campout in the early 1970's by the Forest Lawn Lions Club on father's day weekend. The Father's Day Weekend tradition is still continued today as an annual event of Oscar's Campout.
The "farm" was operated as a group camping area from then on by Oscar and Valerie and is now owned and operated in their memory by their eldest son Dale, his wife Judy and his son and daughter Darcy and Dawn (Mike).
It is a treasured space by all who grew up here and visit.
We will be changing our operating name to the Raven River Hideaway
in the near future.
